Does anyone know if those Belkin outlet really help conserve energy?

My fiance's got a home studio and with so many electrical cords plugged in, energy bills can be up so high. I heard that Belkin outlets can help you conserve energy. Has anyone every used a Belkin outlet before? And does it work and is it a good brand to use?
