Power Steering light (yellow) and ESP light came on in 2006 Jetta?

I know (thanks to Maverick's answer) that yellow light means isted steering... but could anyone tell me how to identify the problem. I'm taking it in next week and just wanted to have an idea of how bad this is... the warranty has ran out. Thanks for your help
