Wearing headphones while Snowboarding?

Yes, like other people mention, its important to be able to hear other people. I actually lost one piece of my headphones so I actually only have them in one ear, when I board. But before that I didn't blast music so I could talk with my buddies on the hill or others, but still be able to enjoy it! I guess those are two options?
